Oudin wins to give USA spot in Fed Cup semifinals
RCS Academy's Melanie Oudin sealed the United States' passage to the semi-finals of the Fed Cup on
Sunday with a 7-6 (7/3), 6-4 win over Julie Coin to establish an unassailable 3-0 lead over hosts France.
Melanie had beaten Pauline Parmentier in straight sets in Saturday's second singles rubber after 140th-ranked Bethanie Mattek-Sands had started the ball rolling with a 7-6 (9/7), 7-5 win over Alize Cornet.
Alexandra Anghelescu honored by USTA
RCS's Alex Anghelescu was honored by the USTA Southern Section, along with her team mates, for winning the G18s Fed Cup this summer in California. The Southern Section won the trophy after a draught of 12 years.
The event took place at the Marriott Perimeter Hotel, during a USTA Conference where it was announced that Atlanta got the ATP US Open Series tournament. Rex Maynard presented each of the girls with a plaque.
Tennis Friends Make a Rescue from Haiti
Vickie Duval, 14, a top-ranked tennis player, trains at the Racquet Club of the South in Norcross. Thanks to a benefactor at the club, her father was flown out of Haiti, where he was critically injured during the earthquake, to a hospital in Florida, where he continues to recover.

RCS to host Wild Card playoff tournament for Pro Circuit Event
A junior Wild Card Playoff Tournament will be held at RCS from March 23rd - 25th. The winners of the tournament will receive a Wild Card into the main draw of the $15,000 ITF Futures tournament being held at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, AL from Mar 27th - April 4th.
